The goal for this project was simple: make the home feel more like home. Our clients wanted a home that felt more modern, sleek contemporary, but not cold. They appreciate orderly design and a masculine influence. Nearly the whole interior of the home was designed and beautifully remodeled, but the facade and bathrooms were my favorite. By introducing stone, stucco, black frame windows and custom corten steel details, the facade transformed into the home’s first impression. Setting the stage for what you experience next in the primary bath: luxurious heated floors, separate bidet, electric mirrors, contemporary floating cabinetry and wall mount faucets set the stage for sleek surfaces and for ease of cleaning and a simple but elevated spaces. The Hall Bath and Guest Bath carried the theme, uniquely sharing the color scheme while developing their own personality.

A once cramped kitchen, utilizing only half the space available, dated with tile countertops, raised panel cabinetry and entirely dysfunctional appliance placement, this client dreamed of a kitchen she could live out her baking hobby in. By eliminating the wasted space of an underutilized dining nook area, the kitchen doubled in size, allowing for a large custom walnut cabinetry island. Dramatic veins in the quartz countertops warmed the space, highlighting the brass fixtures that acted as jewelry. A subtle double herringbone backsplash at the range created a neutral focal point while supporting some of the more striking features such as the oversized skylight well, bringing in natural light. Skylights with rain sensor and shades to protect the natural walnut below from direct sun flooded the space with natural light. Key storage features like a mixer lift with power, appliance garage and large pantry allowed the island countertop to remain empty at all times for clear space when it came to baking or hosting.

This was a fun and unique project to work on. The original kitchen was small and outdated and the client wanted an expansive and contemporary space. By converting the old kitchen into a walk-in pantry and beautiful powder room, we were able to capitalize on a large amount of under utilized square footage for a large kitchen with 3 new skylights and a large window with views of oak trees. The previous dining room was located between the old kitchen and living room, with access through the entry way causing an unsuccessful flow and limited site lines. By popping in a few openings, the homeowners can see their children in rooms they’ve never been able to, all from the kitchen island.

The California Ranch Home is known for having some of the smallest primary bathrooms. Typically speaking, these bathrooms have a single sink, a countertop that extends over a toilet, and a small shower stall, with room for one person at a time. This client desired a retreat, and it wasn’t achievable within the existing footprint. By converting the old primary bedroom into a primary bathroom and walk-in-closet, the new bedroom space was created with a rear addition. The new bedroom featured a custom built in reading nook and dressed, topped with a beautiful arched soffit, tying in other architectural features of the home. A new window overlooked the redesigned garden and entertainment center, bringing in the subtle sounds from the water feature. Complex exterior enhancements such as the hardscape and landscape transformed the backyard to an entertainment haven. Much of the exterior of the home did not change, color palette and trim were carried through. Covering the once-brick chimney in stucco allowed it to disappear against the walls, creating the perfect backdrop for plantings. The bathroom featured a custom tile carpet design of noir and carrara marble. Dark stained cabinetry grounded the space and black accents brought in a modern appeal. The private water closet and freestanding soaking tub made the space feel truly spa-like.

This project was designed and built in two phases. First, 2 bathroom remodels including a unique Powder Room concept, and secondly: the entire house.

The purpose of a Powder Room is to serve your guests with a space that meets the most basic needs of a bathroom: toilet and wash space. Often very small and with minimal need for storage, a Powder Room can be a truly unique and beautiful space. This Powder Room was no exception to the concept of small! A wall mounted toilet and sink was almost necessary to meet basic spatial code requirements, but that challenge supported our inspiration. Kohler’s unique double faucet industrial and rustic trough style wall mount sink quickly defined the space and is supported by the beautiful shiplap walls and fun patterned tile floor! This client was a blast to work with because they were so open to ideas and creating a space truly unique to overall style of their home.

The rest of the home was a builder-basic special. Without involving any structural engineering, we were able to recreate an entirely new home through updating all finishes and fixtures in the house. By stripping out the basic materials and dated white overlay painted cabinetry, we were able to transform the space into something custom, warm and cozy. The walnut floors bring a level of warmth that compliments and balances the deep green and warm gray custom cabinetry. A new floor to ceiling stone fireplace enhanced the family room, making it an inviting space to spend all winter in. The Primary Bath was converted with practical but beautiful porcelain marble inspired tiles, custom cabinetry and featuring a Bain Ultra spa tub.

This beautiful ranch home remodel included a facade update that now features a gorgeous front porch that can be used comfortably year round. On the interior, the client is now welcomed to their home with a large foyer space before entering the great room with an expansive two-tone kitchen, custom built in dining bench area with a custom china cabinet and pantry. In the family room, a wet bar is conveniently located to serving the dining and entertaining spaces. Both Primary Bath and Hall Bath were remodeled. The original Primary Bath was small with a shower that felt tight and a pedestal sink. Now boasting a double vanity with plenty of storage, a curbless walk-in shower open to the bathroom for a true wet room concept, our client is sure to enjoy this oasis every day.

For a family that likes to cook and spend time in the kitchen together, enlarging their kitchen was a must! By removing a wall and sacrificing the rarely utilized formal dining room, we were able to double the size and create space for a large island perfect for gathering. With a masculine color palette and sentimental range backsplash pattern, this kitchen is a perfect reflection of the personalities of my client’s family.

For a couple who’s favorite color is blue, this interior refresh meant everything. This Ranch Home in San Jose had great bones and a floor plan that served the client incredibly well. But a dated kitchen, sunken living room, old bathrooms and carpet that was separating from the backing throughout meant it was time to make some serious upgrades. What began as just a kitchen remodel and eliminating a fireplace turned into a whole home remodel. From new cabinetry, lighting, fixtures, flooring, doors, windows and paint throughout, the home felt brand new again and finally represented this client’s personality, making them feel at home.

Imagine walking into your Master Bathroom and suddenly feeling as if you’re at the spa with luxury finishes from radiant heat tile floors, a steam shower and floating vanity with lighted medicine cabinets. This client, can do just that, everyday. Featuring tile floors that look like wood and run seamlessly into the curb-less shower, this Master Bath has transformed itself into a relaxing retreat. The floating vanity (and toilet) make it easy for your Roomba to clean the entire space. I especially enjoyed working with this client because they came in with an idea, presented their own challenges and worked with me to think outside of the box and create the space of their dreams!

Updating this fireplace, installing new floors and adding recessed lighting was a modest update that had a huge impact on my client’s family room. With blue and coral driving the overall color palette for the space, we chose warm neutrals as a backdrop for the accessories and accents. A warm, neutral stain on the mantel, natural limestone hearth and textural porcelain surround created a timeless and relaxing focal point against the coral wall paint.

This client desperately needed a refresh on her 1970’s guest bathroom, but she only had two requests: sleek and beige. She didn’t like a lot of “bling” or anything too “decorative”, but she really wanted it to be unique and stand out, despite being beige-on-beige-on-beige. The highlight of the Guest Bath is definitely the tile work. A simple cream matte/gloss alternating diagonal shower wall with perfectly wrapped corners is no doubt the star of the show, while still being very subtle. The warm stained vanity grounds the space and the brushed gold fixtures add that “jewelry”. This client couldn’t have been more fun to work with because she was so willing to step outside of her comfort zone, while still staying true to her personal style!

This 3,700 square foot home nestled in a quiet Hillsborough neighborhood needed a complete update from it’s original 1970’s floor plan and taste. Design inspired by the client’s eclectic bohemian style transformed this house into the very functional and bright home that it is today. The large island, barn door, custom cabinetry and two-sided indoor/outdoor fireplace make this home the best place for this family of 5 to grow and entertain.

This home remodel involved relocating the Kitchen, expanding the living room and enlarging the Master Suite by sacrificing a bedroom for the Master Closet. My favorite space in this home so happens to be the Dining Room because it holds one of the only original parts of the whole house - the ceiling. Faced with challenges of lighting and centering to the existing, but refaced fireplace, this room certainly proved to be the most aesthetically rewarding in it’s story.

This home started as a Kitchen remodel and developed over the years into a whole home interior remodel. The client’s goals were to lighten and brighten the space by introducing natural light. By introducing unique patterns and bold colors into the design, I was able to reflect the sophisticated yet playful personality of my client and their family.

Creating a space for entertaining was a must for this family in their 2,500 square foot home. With a color palette driven from green/gray tones, a custom color-stained bar and dish hutch quickly became the starting inspiration for this project. It was important to the client that the Kitchen was open so she could entertain and keep an eye children both inside the home and in the backyard.
